Nurse Maggi
Once upon an Autumn eve, a nervous young girl from the maritime streets of Waterloo in Liverpool, fostered a notion to become a nurse. Though small in frame, she was bright and conscientious and in possession of an enormous heart.
Inspired by books of determination and pride, she set upon a quest which would be fraught with trials, pitfalls, monsters and worse.
Her tale is one of nobility, self belief and an indefatigable determination to succeed. With an unshakable belief in doing what’s right, Maggi became one of the UK’s leading nurses, and a powerful advocate for the continuing evolution of Primary Care in the NHS.

Supporting the next generation of General Practice Nurses
With 40 years of patient care under my belt, I’ve turned my attention to raising the profile of Primary Care as the number one choice for career minded student nurses, supporting them along a journey to become a General Practice Nurse (GPN).
As the Nursing Clinical Lead for Sefton Training Hub, I work alongside nursing students from Edge Hill University, helping them to appreciate the complexity and challenges of Primary Care Nursing, and to experience the enormously rewarding benefits of working one-to-one with local people, with wide ranging needs, who rely on us to help them be well.
